Sweet Holiday Wish List
Well, obviously somehow, without anyone noticing, the end of the year has sneaked in and made itself at home.
At least, for the next 31 days.
How in the world did 2010 pass me by?
But, it’s here. This month has already started crazy busy, and it’s the first day! I have tons of lists around me. Holiday cards to design prepare and mail, holiday gift to make, wrap and give out. Not to mention 3 holiday parties, 1 cookie exchange, my baking/cooking club responsibilities, a friends get-together and my own birthday.
Yes folks, I’m a December baby. In fact, I sort of missed being a Christmas baby by 5 days, but nevertheless my birthday gets bundled up in the holiday spirit.
I would not have it any other way.
But the best part about it? Double presents!
And this year I’m really coveting lots of good stuff, mainly kitchen stuff, because apparently my life has now revolved around my favorite room in the house, my kitchen. Here is a couple of my favorite things that I’m asking Santa for. Most of the links are going to my marketplace, so if you are interested in getting this for your favorite someone, use my link, and this way you support sweetbites as well… because well, I get credit from your shopping spree! See a total win-win for sure.
Of course no list of mine will be complete unless it has a gazillion cookbook choices:
Cake Pops by Bakerella – this one I would love to own, plus I been reading her since forever and got to meet her this past year when I attended the Food Blog Forum in Atlanta. She is just as sweet in person as she is virtually.
Booze Cakes: Confections Spike with Spirits, Wine and Beer – really does not need any explanation, other than the fact that we have a well stocked liquor cabinet thanks to baking with the Heavenly Cake Bakers – Rose sure likes her cakes with boozy syrups. I’m trying to capitalize on that.
1,000 Ideas for Decorating Cupcakes, Cookies & Cakes – I need to conquer my fear of piping and need to start being creative (and a bit daring) with my cake decoration. A nice swirl with the offset spatula is not cutting it anymore. I’m thinking that this book will give me some creative push.
The Photographer’s Eye: Composition and Design for Better Digital Photos - Ok, Ok, it’s not a food photography book, but I saw this book at the store and the fell in love with the way Michael Freeman explains how art/design basics are applied to photography.
Any of the Donna Hay cookbooks – Do I need to say more? She is my hero! I love not only her recipes but adore her food photography/presentation. I would be happy with any of her books. And since we are in the subject, she has just launched her new re-designed web site – TO.DIE!
And if you have the books you may need the equipment, so here is what I’m craving for my kitchen:
Nordicware Pro Cast Bavaria or the Heritage Bundt Pan - I have written before, how I have cake pan envy with my fellow HCB when it comes to the Bundt cake pans. I have one; it’s old and lacks any type of wow factor. So these will make me happy.
Soehnle Retro Digital Scale – my scale is on the last leg. This one is pretty, love the red, I want it. The end.
Frielilng USA Zenker Layer Cake Slicing Kit – You know I bake a lot of cakes around these parts. I suck at cutting the layers; I wish I thought of this one. This baby will give me pretty, even layers.
And there you have it. So far that is what I have on my list. There are still plenty of days left, so I know that I will be salivating over more than just what this list has. And if you are not in the mood for any Kitchen related stuff. You can head over to my best friends blog The Designer Pad, where you can find gifts ideas for Her, Him, Kids, Green and the office. Make sure to check them out.
