Every bite of food should be a sweet bite
This month’s Avid Baker’s choice was something I was looking forward to. I love heavy; dense cakes and pounds cakes are the type of cakes that fit this bill.
Plus is has been a while since a pound has been made around these parts.
Would you believe that I have never, ever made a chocolate pound cake?
Yep, true.
I have a confession – love brownies. Don’t like blondies. I usually find them over-top too sweet. So when I saw this choice from our ABC line up, I was not inspired at all.
Tom on the other hand got all excited and pump fisted the air yelling “FINALLY, something that is not cake – YES!”
Do you think he is trying to tell me something?
Yeah, I did not think so.
So, after all that hula-hoop performance by him, I could not say no to this, plus I been slacking on my participation with the group, I was boxed in.
I been so absent with the Avid Baker’s Challenge post, its a wonder that I have not be kicked out by our gracious host Hanaa.
But this weekend was long, it was raining outside, I had caught up with all of DVR viewing and I wanted a yeast cake and ABC choice was a Butterscotch Spiral Coffee Cake.
Butterscotch people!
As in gooey, caramel-y, sticky and sweet. Pair it with a yeast cake filled with layers of butter and cinnamon, and the cake had me at “hello”.
